Below is a copy of the plat map from the original town charter. The Original is on display at the museum. Please check it out closely. If you use your mouse to hover over the map as you explore, you will get some helpful information in text boxes that appear.

Please Look closely at the map.  If you hover with your mouse, you will get some helpful text boxes. Notice the Public Square in the middle of town.  This public Sauare is where the Park now exists. North Street was Originally the North end of town. South Street was originally the south end of town. Currently Buffalo Street is known as Oakwood Street Here we have Main Street in its original location. Mechanic Street now known as Center Street is where the shops and businesses were, until the train came to town in 1854.  After the Train came to Geneseo, the merchants moved up near the Tracks.
